Planning a stay at High Mountains Motor Inn in Blackheath, NSW? Below are answers to our most frequently asked questions regarding payments, check-in/out times, policies, and amenities to help you prepare for your visit.

What is your payment policy?

High Mountains Motor Inn will charge the accommodation payment to the credit card provided for your reservation within 48 hours of your arrival time. Please ensure your credit card has sufficient funds to cover the total payment. Breakfast payments should be settled before or upon check-in, and any phone usage or mini bar charges must be paid at check-out. If you are leaving early, you may leave the payment and your room key in the room for an express check-out.

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Cash, Bank Transfer, and EFTPOS: Standard payment options are welcome.

  • Credit Cards: All major credit cards are accepted (American Express and Diners Club incur a 3% surcharge).

  • Travellers Cheques: We accept travellers cheques in Australian dollars.

Note: Personal or business cheques are not accepted as on-the-spot payment.

What is the earliest I can check in?

Our standard check-in time is 2:00 PM. If your room is ready earlier, you may be able to check in before 2:00 PM; however, early check-in is subject to availability and a fee of $10.00 per hour will apply for early arrivals.

What is the latest I can check out?

Standard check-out time is 10:00 AM. A late check-out after 10:00 AM will incur a late check-out fee of $10.00 per hour. Late check-outs are subject to room availability on the day of departure, so please check with our staff if you need an extension.

Can I arrive late?

Yes. If you plan to arrive after 8:00 PM, please give us a call in advance to arrange a late check-in. We accommodate late arrivals, but notifying us helps ensure a smooth check-in process.

What is your cancellation policy?

For individual bookings (fewer than 5 people/rooms): Cancellations or changes must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled check-in date (by 2:00 PM two days before arrival) to avoid charges. If you cancel or modify your booking within 48 hours of the arrival date, you will be charged the full amount of the first night’s stay. Failure to arrive (a “No-Show”) is treated as a cancellation; the first night’s accommodation fee will be charged as a penalty.

Group Bookings (5 or more people/rooms) – Confirmation & Cancellation Policy:

  1. A 20% non-refundable deposit of the total booking amount is required to secure a group reservation.

  2. One week prior to the arrival date, the remaining 80% (full payment) of the booking must be paid in full.

  3. No refunds will be issued for changes or cancellations made within one week of the arrival date. If a group booking is canceled within this final week, the entire payment is forfeited.

For groups smaller than 5 people, our standard short-term booking terms and cancellation policy (the 48-hour policy above) applies.

How do I guarantee my booking?

To guarantee your booking, you must provide a valid credit card at the time of reservation. High Mountains Motor Inn will debit the accommodation payment from the provided credit card within 48 hours of your arrival to confirm and secure the booking.

What is your No-Show policy?

If you do not arrive on the scheduled check-in date and have not canceled in advance, it will be treated as a No-Show. In the case of a No-Show, your reservation will be canceled and you will be charged for the first night’s stay as a penalty.

Do you have off-street parking?

Yes. We provide free off-street parking – one parking space is available for each room, right outside the door for your convenience.

Are pets allowed in guest rooms?

No. Pets are not allowed inside guest rooms. The only exception is for certified sight or hearing assistance dogs. (If an assistance animal has stayed, an extra cleaning fee may apply to ensure the room is allergen-free for the next guest.)

Are your rooms non-smoking?

Yes. All rooms at High Mountains Motor Inn are non-smoking. If you smoke in the room, a cleaning fee of $200.00will be charged to your credit card to cover deep-cleaning costs. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our rooms smoke-free.

Do you have a restaurant?

No, we do not have an on-site restaurant. However, the Blackheath town center is a short walk or quick drive away (under 2 minutes by car). In Blackheath village you’ll find numerous dining options, including two pubs and restaurants offering Chinese, Thai, pizza, and modern Australian cuisine. There are plenty of choices to satisfy a variety of tastes just nearby.

Do you offer room service?

Yes. We offer room service for breakfast (Subject to our availability).You can enjoy breakfast in your room (a surcharge applies for room service breakfast). Please arrange this with our staff – a menu and ordering instructions are provided in your room.

Do you have wireless internet in the guest rooms?

Yes. Wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is available in all guest rooms. Feel free to ask our reception for the Wi-Fi password upon check-in. Stay connected during your stay!

Do you have an outdoor entertainment area?

Yes. We have a lovely outdoor pergola area with BBQ facilities available for guest use. The pergola is equipped with a barbecue grill, as well as tables and chairs, making it a great spot to relax or enjoy an outdoor meal.

Do you have a kitchenette for guest use?

Yes. There is a shared guest kitchen on the premises that all guests can access. This kitchenette is equipped with basic facilities, allowing you to prepare simple meals, make tea or coffee, and store food during your stay.

How close are you to the shops?

We are very close to local shops and amenities. High Mountains Motor Inn is located about 900 meters from Blackheath’s main street – that’s roughly a 2-minute drive or an easy 10-minute walk. Along the main street (Great Western Highway), you will find many cafés, specialty stores, and an IGA supermarket for groceries and essentials.

Do you have Foxtel (cable TV)?

Yes. We offer Foxtel cable TV channels, but only in our Deluxe rooms. If having Foxtel is important for your stay, please consider booking one of the Deluxe rooms to enjoy this feature.
